Quick answers for common senior tech problems.

Check that Wi-Fi or cellular data is working, confirm the recipient address is typed correctly, then open the Outbox or Drafts folder and try sending again. If it still fails, restart the mail app and the phone.

Use the official password reset page for the email provider. Do not give the password or reset code to anyone by email, text or phone.

Start with photos and videos. Delete obvious duplicates, remove large downloads, and empty Recently Deleted. Do not delete anything you are unsure about.

Check the volume buttons, make sure the call is not muted, and confirm the correct speaker or headphones are selected.

Look for the microphone mute button first. Then check whether the app has microphone permission in settings.

Make sure the printer is on, has paper, and is connected to the same Wi-Fi as the device. Restarting the printer often fixes simple connection problems.

Check whether other devices are connected. If everything is offline, restart the router and wait a few minutes before trying again.

Do not click links in the message. Open the official app or website yourself and check there. If money, gift cards or urgency are involved, pause and ask for help.

Do not allow remote access unless you started the support request and know exactly who is helping. Never share banking, Medicare or Social Security information.

Open Settings, look for Display or Accessibility, and increase text size. You can also turn on zoom or larger buttons if needed.

Open the message, tap the photo, then look for Share or Save Image. After saving, check the Photos app.

Open Photos, choose one picture, tap Share, pick the contact or app, and send. Practice with one photo before sending many.

Tap the meeting link or open Zoom and enter the meeting ID. Join with audio, then use mute/unmute as needed.

Open FaceTime, choose a contact, and tap video. If the person does not answer, try calling or texting first.

Swipe to open brightness controls or go to Settings > Display. Also check if Low Power Mode or Night Shift is changing the screen.

Updates are usually important, but make sure the phone is charged and connected to Wi-Fi. If unsure, ask for help before starting.

Swipe down on the home screen and search for the app name. If it is deleted, use the App Store or Play Store to reinstall it.

Use the phone's recent calls list to block the number. You can also silence unknown callers, but be careful not to miss expected calls.

Be careful with urgent messages, unknown links, prize claims, delivery problems, bank warnings or requests for codes. Open the official app directly instead.

Close extra tabs and programs, restart the computer, and make sure updates are not running in the background. Avoid downloading cleanup tools from pop-ups.

Check Downloads, Documents and Desktop. Use the search box with part of the file name if you remember it.

Use a longer phrase you can remember, and do not reuse the same password everywhere. Consider a password manager with family help if appropriate.

Do not enter information. Close the page, change the password only from the official site if needed, and ask for help before taking more steps.

Put the headphones in pairing mode, open Bluetooth settings, then tap the headphone name. If it fails, turn Bluetooth off and on.

Try a different outlet and cable if available. Check for dust in the charging port without inserting anything sharp.
